While the West Virginia State Bar recently issued a Notice preventing lawyers from discussing individual settlements or verdicts, he has received verdicts and settled cases for well over a million dollars.  He has handled numerous high dollar cases and has the experience to advise clients when faced with difficult decisions.

Tim concentrates his practice in the areas of employment and labor law and personal injury.   Here is a brief summary of some of Mr. Conaway's practice areas:

Wrongful Discharge - Mr. Conaway has vast experience in West Virginia employment law.  Mr. Conaway has represented individuals in all of the following wrongful  discharge areas: hostile work environment; age, sex, handicap and race discrimination; sexual harassment; political firing, civil service matters, and privacy issues; whistleblower.  Mr. Conaway normally represents plaintiffs in wrongful firing cases, but has been hired by defendants to represent large corporations that have been sued for illegally discharging employees.

Coal Mine Accidents - Tim Conaway taught coal mine safety for the Bureau of Mines before going to law school in 1972.  For 35 years he has lived and worked as a lawyer in Boone County, WV, one of the largest coal producing counties  in the country.  He understands the dangers involved in mining.  Mr. Conaway predicted dangerous times were on the way for the coal industry back in 2006, and called for additional safety laws.  Had the coal companies listened, we may have avoided the Upper Big Branch and Sago disasters

Motor Vehicle Accidents -  Tim has handled almost every kind of accident case over his 35 years.  He has filed and settled numerous cases involving car accidents, semi-truck wrecks and motorcycle accidents.  These cases have ranged from minor injuries to death cases.

He is a graduate of West Virginia University College of Law.  Ben has handled hundreds of personal injury and wrongful discharge cases in his 10 year career.  Mr. Conaway has been lead counsel in cases filed in federal and West Virginia state courts.  Mr. Conaway has successfully argued multiple cases in front of the West Virginia Supreme Court and helped create law protecting the home in a landmark decision by the WV Supreme Court.
