WHAT ARE PERSONAL INJURY CASES?

PERSONAL REPRESENTATION

Conaway and Conaway has over thirty five years of experience in personal injury lawsuits and insurance claims. We will work to settle your personal injury claim for the highest value. If favorable settlement is not possible, we will take your case to a jury trial. Lawyers in the firm will be handling your case. Many law firms will give clients the impression that the top lawyers in the firm will be handling their case. Once the client walks out the door they immediately assign a paralegal to the case and the lawyer you thought you were hiring hardly ever looks at the file again. We will not do this. If you hire us as your attorneys we will not pass the work to someone else. We will negotiate with the insurance company. We will argue with the defense attorneys. We will not pass that responsibility off to a non-lawyer. One of us will work with you personally. Also, unlike some law firms we do not treat our accident cases like assembly lines. We will not settle quickly just to get another case off our desk and make a quick dollar. Our goal is to get the maximum award for our clients.

When a person is injured in a car accident, truck accident, or coal mining accident because of the negligence of a person or the negligence of a corporation, or a family member is killed in an accident (called a “wrongful death”), the injured person, or in the event of a wrongful death, the family of the person who was killed, has a claim against the corporation or company or person who caused the death or injury and their insurance company. The person who has suffered a personal injury or the family of the deceased in the event of a wrongful death should immediately contact an experienced trial attorney before the insurance claims adjuster commits the person with the personal injury claim or the family in the case of a wrongful death to a settlement that is not in the best interest of the person with the insurance claim. The insurance company or corporation will act quickly in contacting its own lawyer in order to try and minimize the amount of money they will have to pay.

We believe that juries in Boone, Logan, Mingo, Kanawha, and Lincoln Counties in West Virginia have a history of returning high verdicts in personal injury and wrongful death cases resulting from car accidents, truck accidents, other motor vehicle collisions and coal mine accident cases. We have handled accident cases in places all across West Virginia including, Charleston, Williamson, Logan, Madison, Hamlin, Chapmanville, and Beckley.  Other examples of personal injury accidents involve, dog bite injuries, slip and fall injuries, burn injuries, industrial accidents, defective products causing injury or death, and house fires causing injury or property loss.
